ISGI
has been in business since 1987 and John Kubik, the owner,
is uniquely qualified to conduct the inspection on your
property. In addition to performing thousands of inspections,
John has an extensive background in construction, having
engaged in the building of upscale homes in the Atlanta
market. John also spent 8 years doing property analysis
and valuation work on commercial and industrial buildings
throughout the country.
ISGI
enjoys full member status with ASHI, the American Society
of Home Inspectors. John was also a founding board member
of the Georgia Association of Home Inspectors and, thereafter,
served as a member of the board for a number of years. Since
1991, John has been "Code Certified" (#1491) by
CABO/ICC, the national body that develops and sets code
standards for residential and commercial development.
John
is qualified as, and has testified as, an expert witness
to give evidence as to the findings of his inspections.
Of all the inspections ISGI performs in a year, approximately
two dozen are specifically requested due to a conflict between
a client and a builder or remodeler. Most of these conflicts
are resolved without further assistance from ISGI, but sworn
testimony in a deposition or court hearing does happen at
times. In situations like these, it is not only necessary
to have an inspector that is knowledgeable in his craft,
but to also have one that is experienced and adept within
the legal setting.
John
has also appeared on three network television news shows
- ABC "Inside Edition", ABC "20/20"
and NBC "Prime Time" - where he was retained as
an expert on construction defects present in new construction.
John
served in Vietnam as an Army Aviator, flying reconnaissance
and combat support missions during the war.
